Maoists kill trooper in Jharkhand
Ranchi, June 17 Maoist guerrillas on Friday killed a paramilitary trooper and injured another in a gun battle in Jharkhand's Giridih district, police said.
A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contingent was on a search operation in Pathhalgada jungle when the Maoists opened fire.
The trooper who died and the one who was injured belonged to the CRPF's CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) Force.
The police claimed that some Maoists were also killed but no body has been recovered.
