'Happy Bhag Jayegi' mints over Rs 10 crore in opening weekend
Mumbai, Aug 22 : Diana Penty and Abhay Deol starrer “Happy Bhag Jayegi†has minted Rs 10.71 crore in its opening weekend, according to its makers.
The Mudassar Aziz directorial, which released on August 18, collected Rs 2.32 crore on its opening day. The collections escalated over the weekend as the film minted Rs 3.81 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.58 crore on Sunday, respectively, read a statement.“Happy Bhag Jayegi†also stars Momal Shaikh, Ali Fazal and Jimmy Sheirgill.
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film got a decent hike after starting on a "shaky note". "Happy Bhag Jayegi" saw further growth on Sunday.
"Considering it started on a shaky note on Friday morning, the weekend total is substantial. Has to stay afloat on weekdays to leave a mark," Adarsh posted on Twitter on Monday.
