Markets open on higher note on Tuesday
Mumbai, Sep 6: The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Tuesday opened on a higher note during the morning session of the trade.
The Sensex of the BSE after opening at 28,631.27 points soon shot up and touched a high of 28,785.71 points and a low of 28,631.27 points.
On September 2, the Sensex closed at 28,532.11 points.
The markets were closed on Monday owing to Hindu festival Ganesh Chaturthi.
The Sensex is trading at 28,750.18 points up by 218.07 points or 0.76 per cent.
On the other hand the broader 51-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened at 8,852.70 points after closing at 8,809.65 points on September 2.
The Nifty is trading at 8,873.50 points in the morning.
