I miss dressing up like a girl: Saniya Touqeer
Mumbai, Sep 21: Female child artist Saniya Touqeer, who is currently seen playing a boy named Manpreet in TV show "Waaris", says she misses dressing up as a girl.
"I really miss dressing up like a girl. I had long tresses before the show and I really miss them sometimes," Saniya said in a statement.
"Also because I am shown as a boy on the show, I am restricted to wearing only shirts and shorts. But in between shots, I go to my co-actors make-up rooms and wear bangles and wigs as well," added the nine-year-old.
Akshay Dogra, who is seen as Manpreet's uncle Jagan in the show, said: "All of us hardly acknowledge the fact that Saniya is a girl. The creatives have done a great job with her look."
"Waaris", aired on &TV, is based on cultural issues and shows a mother (played by Aarti Singh) bringing up a girl child as a boy.
