Comedian Zakir Khan starts nine-city tour from Delhi
New Delhi, Sep 24: Comedian Zakir Khan marked the beginning of his nine-city tour with a live performance here.
The performance on Friday was part of Red FM's Red LIVE. The tour is spread across nine cities over two months.
Khan's act led to laughter among the audience members at the Siri Fort auditorium, as he delivered humour-filled punches.
With this initiative, Red FM aims to bring the new wave of stand-up comedy to the masses.
After the Delhi show which was sold out in the same week of making the tickets live, the comedy mayhem will drive into other cities including Indore, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Bhopal, Pune and Lucknow.
Commenting on the association, Nisha Narayanan, Chief Operating Officer, 93.5 Red FM, said in a statement: "Stand-up comedy has worked for us in the past when we did Red LIVE With Kapil Sharma.
"It gives Red LIVE vertical another dimension as we explore to expand to other formats of live entertainment."
Khan is a stand-up comedian, writer and presenter who rose to fame in 2012 after winning Comedy Central's India's Best Stand-Up Comedian competition.
He has also been a part of a news comedy show "On Air with AIB". A writer by profession, he serves his take on modern India with his rustic humour.
