Bangladesh's Mahmudullah comfortable batting at four
Dhaka, Sep 27: Bangladesh cricketer Mahmudullah has found himself batting in various positions in the national team but he has been most prolific batting at No. four in One-Day Internationals (ODIs).
In a career spanning over nine years, Mahmudullah has been well known for his ability to bat at any position, reports bdnews24.com.
But he has yearned for a regular spot in all formats of the game.
"In which position I will play depends on what the team wants from me, but I am feeling comfortable batting at four right now," Mahmudullah said.
"I am always a team player. I will try to do well in whichever position the team wants me to. But at the moment I'm feeling good at number four."
He has been scrolled between six different positions in Tests and Twenty20s and seven among ODIs.
But the 30-year-old batsman's recent knocks suggest he is ready to settle down at four, because he has scored 593 runs in 12 innings - including two centuries and five half-centuries - at an average of 74.12 playing in that position.
No other Bangladeshi batsman has such a good average at any one position.
He hit back-to-back centuries in the 2015 World Cup in Australia batting at the same spot.
