Duterte calls himself Hitler, wants to kill 3 million

Manila, Sep 30: Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte likened himself to Hitler on Friday and said he will be happy to kill the three million drug users and dealers in the country.

Talking to reporters after his visit to Vietnam, The Philippine Star quoted Duterte as saying: "Hitler massacred three million Jews. Now, there are three million drug addicts. I'd be happy to slaughter them."

Duterte's comments came a day after US Defense Secretary Ash Carter described the US-Philippines alliance as ironclad despite the Philippines leader abusing Barack Obama in September.

Duterte hurled abuse at the EU and UN too after both bodies condemned the anti-drugs war in the Philippines and called it a violation of human rights.

Duterte won the May presidential elections with a campaign promise to end the country's drug problem within six months.
