Voting for Congress will help BJP: Mayawati
Lucknow, Oct 9
BSP chief Mayawati on Sunday urged Muslims in Uttar Pradesh not to vote for the Congress in the coming assembly election as it will only benefit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"I urge all the Muslims in Uttar Pradesh not to divide their vote share by voting for the Congress as it will benefit the BJP," the former Chief Minister told a huge rally at the Ambedkar Park here.
She urged Muslims, the largest minority in the country's most populous state, to vote for the Bahujan Samaj Party to defeat the BJP. "Dividing your votes will help the BJP," she said.
