Chinese shares open lower
Beijing, Oct 31: Chinese stocks opened lower on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.23 per cent to open at 3,097.19 points.
The smaller Shenzhen Component index opened 0.24 per cent lower at 10,685.36 points, Xinhua news agency reported.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, opened 0.32 per cent lower at 2,158.57 points.
