VHP welcomes demonetisation of high value currency notes
New Delhi, Nov 9: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) on Wednesday welcomed demonetisation of currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 value and said it will not only curb the menace of black money but also attack terrorism.
"This decision will not only curb the black money menace but will also have a severe attack on the terrorism and smuggling too, which is funded through Pakistan-sponsored fake currency," VHP's Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain said in a statement.
Terming the government's move as historic and bold, Jain appealed to the people of the country to abide with the government's decision and implement it whole-heartedly for the long-term national interest, even though they may experience some temporary difficulties.
In a major economic decision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 currency notes.
