EC changes picture format ahead of UP polls
Lucknow, Nov 12 : Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has made pasting of photographs on nomination papers of candidates mandatory, an official said on Saturday.
The notification issued ahead of the 2017 polls requires all candidates contesting to paste latest photographs measuring 2x2.5 cm with a black/white background.
The full face of the candidate should be visible in the picture, the official told IANS.
Chief Electoral Officer of UP, T. Venkatesh said directives with regards to the change were sent to all district electoral offices for compliance.
The ECI portal updated the latest change in format. Venkatesh also said that with regards to complaints and corrections in the voters list, a special drive would be launched on Saturday and Sunday.
