People reject government that inflicts misery: Akhilesh
Lucknow:Nov15 The government that heaps miseries on people is rejected and thrown out by the masses, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav said here on Tuesday.
Speaking after flagging off the India-Myanmar-Thailand Friendship Motor Car
Rally from his official residence, the Chief Minister said that people are
facing immense problems on account of the central government's decision to
scrap Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denomination notes.
Akhilesh Yadav said "The Uttar Pradesh government is deeply concerned
about the problems people are facing, especially in the rural areas, following
the Narendra Modi-led government's decision to withdraw the high-denomination
currency notes."
"We are arranging cash vans to make money available to the people in
far-flung areas," he added.
Taking a dig at Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, Akhilesh Yadav
said: "'Buaji' (BSP chief) is very fond of wearing garlands of currency
notes. Narendra Modi has put a check on the hobby of 'Buaji' through his
demonetisation move. This is not good..."
He added that although every citizen of this country is facing difficulties on
account of scrapping of the high-value notes, the most distressed person is
'Buaji', suggesting that she has huge stockpiles of such unaccounted money.
On November 8, Prime Minister Modi announced demonetisation of Rs 500 and Rs
1,000 notes in a bid to curb black money in the country as also to break the
back of terror outfits, which are believed to thrive on illegal money.
