Sloppy India post 92/2 at lunch against England
Visakhapatnam, Nov 17: India recovered from early jolts to reach 92/2 at lunch on the opening day of the second Test against England at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium here on Wednesday.
Skipper Virat Kohli (35 not out) and Cheteshwar Pujara (37 not out) resurrected the innings after England's leading pace duo of James Anderson and Stuart Broad dealt early blows by sending back openers Murali Vijay (20) and Lokesh Rahul (0) early in the session.
Electing to bat on a fresh Vizag track, India were reduced to 22/2 before Kohli and Pujara battled a few anxious moments to put an unbeaten 70-run stand for the third wicket.
Brief Scores: India 92/2 (Virat Kohli 35 not out, Cheteshwar Pujara 37 not out, James Anderson 1/19, Stuart Broad 1/21) vs England.
