Privilege to produce my mentor's film: Parthiepan
Chennai, Dec 11 : Actor-filmmaker R. Parthiepan will be producing veteran director K. Bhagyaraj's next yet-untitled Tamil directorial. He says that he considers it a privilege to join forces with his mentor on his comeback film.
"We are all waiting for him (Bhagyaraj) to return to direction. When we were discussing an idea, I thought why not make him direct in my production. Even though I'm struggling to produce my own films, I'm doing this project because it will be a privilege to produce my mentor's film," Parthiepan told IANS.
As a director, Bhagyaraj's last outing was 2010 Tamil romantic comedy "+2", which featured his son Shanthanu in the lead.
Interestingly, the upcoming project will also star Shanthanu.
"I just worked with Shanthanu on my next directorial 'Koditta Idangalai Nirappuga', and he was really good in it. Instead of going for someone else, I felt it will make sense to work with him again. Moreover, he's going to work with his father so it will be easier to work," Parthiepan said.
