Beijing Beikong complete Tiote's move to China
Beijing, Feb 8: Former Cote d'Ivoire international Cheick Tiote has left Newcastle for China's Beijing Beikong, the capital-based football club said here.
Meanwhile, the Chinese second-tier team also on Tuesday confirmed four other signings, all of them local players, Xinhua news agency reported.
Tiote joined Newcastle from Dutch Twente in 2010, but had seen his chance slim in the Magpies under Rafael Benitez this season, making just one league appearance and two in the FA Cup.
The 30-year-old, who had 55 caps for Cote d'Ivoire, won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015.
