Former Liverpool captain Moran passes away at 83
Liverpool, March 22: Ronnie Moran, former Liverpool football club captain and coach, breathed his last at the age of 83 here on Wednesday.
Moran played 379 times between 1952 and 1968 for Liverpool, scoring 17 goals, but arguably played a big role under head coach Bill Shankly.
Moran played under Shankly when he was invited by the Scot to join the coaching team and twice filled in as caretaker coach during 49 years of service at the club.
"Liverpool Football Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Ronnie Moran," a statement from the club said.
