Key Indian equity indices trade higher
Mumbai, May 19: Key Indian equity market indices opened in the green on Friday following Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council's fitment of 1,211 goods in the tax slabs.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) was trading 208.82 points or 0.69 per cent higher during the early session.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 56.30 points or 0.60 per cent higher at 9,485.75 points.
The BSE Sensex, which opened at 30,539.65 points, was trading at 30,643.61 points (at 9.21 a.m.) in the early session, higher 208.82 points or 0.69 per cent from the previous day's close at 30,434.79 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 30,667.65 points and a low of 30,539.65 points in the trade so far.
