Sensex crosses 31,000-mark for first time
Mumbai, May 26: The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE touched the 31,000-mark for the first time in history during the mid-afternoon trade session on Friday.
A strong rupee, along with surge in metal and automobile stocks helped the key index to touch an intra-day new high of 31,034.30 points.
