Nine security personnel killed in Iraq

Baghdad, July 13: Nine security personnel were killed and 12 injured on Thursday when Islamic State (IS) suicide bombers attacked the headquarters of paramilitary tribal fighters in Iraq's Anbar province.
Four IS militants wearing explosive belts detonated the devices after a fierce clash at a checkpoint at the entrance of the headquarters in Garma town, an official told Xinhua news agency.
The attack comes after Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi on Tuesday formally declared Mosul liberated from the IS after nearly nine months of fierce fighting to dislodge the militants from their last major stronghold in Iraq.
