Mamata pays homage to Rajiv Gandhi
Kolkata, Aug 20 West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday paid homage to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his 73rd birth anniversary.
"Sincere tributes to Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary," Banerjee tweeted.
Gandhi was born on August 20, 1944 and was Prime Minister from 1984 to 1989. He was assassinated by a LTTE suicide bomber at Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991 while campaigning for general election.
