Congress hopes SC judgement will end controversy
New Delhi, Aug 22 The Congress on Tuesday hailed the Supreme Court ruling on triple talaq as historic and hoped it will end the controversy over the issue.
"We welcome this historic judgement because Islam rejects prejudice against and exploitation of Muslim women," Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala told reporters.
"The decision has reinforced the rights of Muslim women, who were its victims for centuries. We hope after this decision all the parties will be satisfied and the controversy will end."
