Six-year-old sexually assaulted in Delhi school, sweeper arrested

New Delhi, Oct 5: A sweeper of a city private school has been arrested for sexually assaulting a six-year-old Class I girl student, police said on Thursday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Chinmoy Biswal said the girl was molested on Wednesday afternoon in Sant Nirankari School in Malviya Nagar of south Delhi by the sweeper -- Rakesh, 22.

"The victim returned from the school and informed her parents, who then went back to the school and met the Principal," the DCP said.

Biswal said the girl was molested at around 1.00 p.m on Wednesday and around 8.00 p.m, her parents informed the police about the incident.

The officer said the accused was later identified by the victim and he was subsequently arrested.
