Shree Jalaram Mandir Presents Dazzling Garba-Raas Ramzat

Bartlett, IL: Shree Jalaram Mandir, 425 Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estate, IL Organized ‘Raas Garba Ramzat’ to celebrate Ratri after Navaratri on grand scale with International Artists: Damyanti Bardai, Winner of Meghani Awards (2017), the Famous Gujarati Playback Singer Bhikhudan Gadhvi accompanied by Thunderous Voice of Mukesh Solanki and Rocking Band including Jayanti Kabira (Keyboard Player), Jitu Hate (Drum Player), Vijay Barot (Dhol Player), Vasu (Octopad player) on Friday, October 6, 2017, 7:30 pm at Bartlett Park District – Sports Complex, 700 S. Bartlett Rd, Bartlett, IL.

Shree Jalaram Mandir of Chicago has been organizing events in outstanding manner, portraying great example of team work. Every individual participated with sheer dedication. From the Artists, Audience to the Garba Dancers, Full Enjoyment, Passion, and Enthusiasm was reflected. When asked main purpose of organizing such event, team of board members replied, “This type of events promote “Gujarati, Indian Culture” to new generations and encourage involvement from many other ethnicities!

“Gujarati’s, who are core participants of this festivity, have Garba & Dandia in their heart". There were incredible participants of all ages of men and women, enjoying and celebrating the memorable evening. Many in the audience, especially ladies of all ages wore very colorful and stunning traditional dresses for this special occasion with appropriately matching ornaments and extravagant hairstyles. The Venue was a Full House!

Damyanti Bardai and the Team, began the evening by offering a prayer. The starting was with very famous and catchy Garba song 'Gori Radha Ne Kalo Kan". Damayantiben sung the most in demand duets including 'Dada ho Dikari'. Bhikhudan Ghadavi performed on upbeat famous Gujarati Song 'Ho rang rasiya Kya Rami Avya Raas' and Mukesh Solanki took the performance to the Next Level with various remix including ‘Dholi Taro Dhol Baaje’. The evening was full of mesmerizing rhythmic traditional Garba music with equally passionate and high energetic performance by the swirling dance around Maa Shakti. After the brief break and Aarti, the festive music of Dandiya-Raas commenced with the enthusiastic participants which lasted beyond midnight.

Deserving participants were also recognized at the event, Prizes were offered for the Best Costumes & Best Performances, these prizes were categorized in Kids under 10, Youth 11-25 and age group over 25. Winners were honored with a Gift Cards, generously donated by Dalicious Restaurant in Naperville, Thumka Restaurant in Hoffman Estates, Palakhi Boutique in Schaumburg, and Calibre Coffee/Panera Bread in Barrington. The Honorable Judges Vanlila Amin, Falguni Thakkar, Nancy Barot and Falguni Rana worked very hard to recognize each deserving participants.

Free Raffle prices were also distributed. Five winners were awarded with valuable household items. Raffle prices were sponsored by Silk USA Boutique in Schaumburg. Delicious food was available from Honest and Sai Saffron.

“The Board of Trustees, Executive Committee Members and Volunteers made amazing efforts and efficient planning including proper attention towards the security, safety of each participants and parking arrangement” said by Yogesh Thakkar office Bearers of Shree Jalaram Mandir.

The Spinning Raas-Garba Dancers, Performed Garba moves in various styles forming circles around the Mandavi of the Goddess Ambe Maa (Maa Shakti), located in the center of the Floor. The first half session was performed on Garba beats and then transition into 2nd session of Raas-Dandia with Wooden Sticks bumping together in Flawless Synchronization. The Rocking Live Band and High Energized Garba Dancers, especially ladies including all ages wearing Colorful Gujarati Traditional Dresses (Chania Choli) were mesmerizing. This Holy Event is celebrated by Shree Jalaram Mandir every year in Honor of Goddess Ambe Maa.
