Richardson Police found body of a child

Richardson, Texas: The Richardson Police have found a body of a small child near a culvert during the search for the 3-year old Sherin Mathews, who went missing from home on October 7, Dallasnews.com reported
Police said they had not yet confirmed that the body is that of Sherin Mathews, but indicated that they have no reason to believe the body was that of a different child. But they are still awaiting positive identification.
Officers had blocked off an area near Spring Valley and Bowser roads, east of Central Expressway. Police did not say how far away it from the house of Sherin Mathews. The location is near the girl's home.
The body was found in a culvert beneath a road about 11 a.m. Sunday with the help of search dogs. Police have not released any details about how the child died.
Wesley Mathews, 37, who adopted Sherin from an orphanage in Bihar last year, was charged with abandoning or endangering a child after she went missing. He was released from jail on a bond for $250,000. He was required to wear an electronic monitoring device and surrender his passport.
Mathews claimed the child had eating disorder and might get up at night to eat or drink. Mathews told police that he put her in an alley near their house at around 3 am to punish for not drinking milk. When he returned after 15 minutes, she was not there.
Instead of continuing the search or calling the police he went back to do the laundry and called the police at 8 am.
His wife Sini and four year old biological child were reportedly asleep then. The biological child was removed from there home by authorities later and placed in a foster home.
The FBI seized 47 items from their home, including a washer and a dryer, five cellphones, three laptops, trash bags and a digital camera.
