Thomas K. Philip Chirayil passes away in Dallas, Texas

He was an early immigrant who came to the US in 1970. He was a noted community activist, who actively worked to start several organizations. An avid volleyball player, he was instrumental in starting the annual Jimmy George Volleyball Tournament a quarter of a century ago, which has grown as a major event in the community. He was also a founding member of the Kerala Volleyball League of North America.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elsy Philip.
Children: Rino and wife, Swapna (Karimkuttiyil); and children, Toral, Nadia, and Reeyan; Rijo and fiancée, Megan McCleneghen; Lisa and husband, Alex Mathew (Angailthazha); and daughter, Isabella.
