Man killed, family critical as car plunges off UP bridge
Lucknow, Nov 27 A man was killed and his wife and two children critically injured when their car fell from a bridge in Uttar Pradesh's Jaunpur, police said on Monday.
The incident took place on the Dhaniamau bridge around midnight on Sunday. A container coming from behind also fell from the bridge on the car below, smashing it completely.
Two JCB's were pressed into service to remove the container from over the car after which only the rescue operation could be undertaken.
The car owner Sharad, 39, died on the spot, while his wife Pragati, 35, and children Sauda, 7, and Shamli, 4, were critically injured.
It was a tough time pulling the injured from the mangled car. The deceased was from Varanasi.
