Argentine first division match delayed by bomb threat
Buenos Aires, Jan 29 : An Argentine first division football match between Huracan and River Plate was delayed almost two hours after a bomb scare.
The Tomas Duco stadium in Buenos Aires was evacuated around an hour before the scheduled 7.15 p.m. kick-off following a threatening telephone call, officials said on Sunday, reports Xinhua news agency.
Authorities spent almost two hours searching the venue before giving permission for the match to go ahead.
"Huracan's stadium has been given the all-clear ... finally the game will start at 9.10 p.m.," River Plate said on Twitter.
The match is part of the 13th round of Argentina's Superliga season which resumed this week after a month-long summer recess.
