AIADMK plans grand celebration of Jayalalithaa's 70th birth anniversary
Chennai, Feb 23 The ruling AIADMK will hold several events as part of the grand celebration of the 70th birth anniversary of late Chief Minister and party supremo J. Jayalalithaa on Saturday.
The AIADMK government has come up with the 'Amma' scooter subsidy scheme, expected to be launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to party officials, a statue of Jayalalithaa will be unveiled at the party headquarters here, followed by the launch of Tamil daily 'Nammadhu Amma'.
In the evening, the state government will launch the scooter subsidy scheme wherein the government will provide 50 per cent subsidy subject to a maximum of Rs 25,000 for the purchase of scooters by working women.
