Global cues, value buying push equity indices higher
Mumbai, March 21 Global cues and value buying pushed the Indian equity markets higher during the afternoon trade session on Wednesday.
According to market observers, healthy buying was witnessed in banking and capital goods stocks.
At 1.12 p.m., the barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE traded at 33,193.65 points, up by 198.89 points or 0.60 per cent, from its previous close of 32,996.76 points.
Similarly, the wider Nifty50 of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) edged higher during the trade session under review. It gained 52.95 points, or 0.52 per cent, to 10,177.30 points.
