Hostages taken at French supermarket
Paris, March 23 An armed man took several people hostage at a supermarket in a southern French town and also shot a policeman on Friday.
The gunman fired shots at several police officers, injuring one of them, during the incident in the morning in the town of Trebes, the BBC reported.
He shouted slogans of the Islamic State.
"The main priority is the police and emergency services' intervention," said the Interior Ministry on Twitter, adding that a security perimeter was established in the area.
