GOPIO’s health and wellness symposium on April 7 at Kerala Center in NY

GOPIO-New York organizes a community health care and wellness symposium on April 7, 11: 30 am to 1:30 pm at the Indian American Kerala Center.
The vision of GOPIO’s Wellness Spectrum is to provide expert advise for the benefit of the community on integrated modern medicine and the complimentary health care modalities for better health and wellness. The symposium is for men, women, youths of all ages and genders.

The Indian American Kerala Center, India Association of Long Island (IALI)
And Gujarati Samaj of New York
Integrative and functional medicine expert and registered dietitian and nutritionist Rita K. Batheja will speak on functional medicine and personalized life style. A Medallion award recipient, she is in private practice in Baldwin Harbor, Long Island, NY.
Dr. Vasudha Gupta, Ayurvedic practitioner, will speak on the scope of Ayurveda in today’s health care.
Dr. Yousuf U. Syed, a pathologist will speak on how to prevent common diseases.
Chandni Rodriguez, a Yoga teacher will speak on the topic of the benefit of Yoga for sound health. A yoga demonstration follows.
A healthy lunch follows after the symposium.

RITA BATHEJA, MS RDN CDN FAND AFMCP, Integrative and Functional Medicine Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Rita is Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, World's largest Nutrition Professionals 100,000 member organization's (Formerly American Dietetic Assoc.) Top Award recipient called Medallion award recipient is in Private Practice in Baldwin Harbor, Long Island, NY. She is Inaugural Community Leader of the Asian Indians in Nutrition and Dietetic Member Interest Group of the Academy. She is in the Nutrition field for the last 45 years. Originally from Mandavi, Kutch-Gujarat. Lives with her husband Kashi.
VASUDHA GUPTA, BAMS – Ayurvedic Practitioner
Vasudha, an Ayurvedic Physician, founded American Ayurveda with an aim to advocate Ayurveda. She is a master pulse reader & herbalist specializing in customizing formulation as per patient's health issues / body type she finds in the pulse. She provides Nutritional Counseling using Ayurvedic principles to balance the body. Vasudha has appeared in numerous TV shows and teaches at several institutions in the tri state area and has been invited speaker at the NAVEL Expo.
Dr. YOUSUF U. SYED, M.D., MPH - Pathologist
Dr. Syed, a pathologist is Chairman of Global Interfaith Peace Mission. He is also involved in Indo American Health Care Initiatives and International Cultural Club of India
CHANDNI RODRIGUEZ/YOGA TEACHER
Chandni is on a mission to teach, heal and help individuals to achieve their full potentials. Yoga is a discipline where all facets of life are examined and unified. Yoga has been foundation of Chandni’s life. Through her mother, Gurani Anjali, Founder of Yoga Anand Ashram (Amityville, NY), Chandni had an intimate experience of being raised in Yoga. Love of Yoga and the desire to share this great practice is the guiding factor of Chandni’s life. Chandni was trained under her mother at Yoga Anand Ashram and at Westchester Yoga Arts.
