Keralite killed in train accident in New Brunswick station in New Jersey
A Keralite was killed in a train accident in New Brunswick station in New Jersey, according to media reports.
The man's identity has not yet been released as the incident remains under investigation by NJ Transit Police.
Jason Abrams, Amtrak spokesman, said Train 643 offering Keystone service from Newark to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, came in contact with a trespasser on the tracks outside the New Brunswick station at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
A police monitor service indicated someone jumped in front of a train and was fatally struck in the area of French and Albany streets.
Abrams said no injuries were reported by the 74 passengers and crew members on board the train.
New Brunswick police said officers from the city and Amtrak responded to the scene.
