March 27 :
The American celebration of Holi, the Indian festival of colours, includes a festive gathering in the centre of Washington, DC, and the famous Times Square in New York, where banners with Holi greetings are displayed.

While the Indian Consulate in New York decorated Times Square with banners wishing people a happy Holi, the Indian Embassy in the country's capital held a cultural event at DuPont Circle, bringing the festive atmosphere to the city's centre.

"Holi, a joyful celebration bursting with Indian colours, music, and culture, takes place in the heart of Washington, DC @DuPont Circle!" shared the task on X. Holi, which in India heralds the entrance of spring, falls on the same weekend as the Washington, DC, cherry blossoms this year! We hope you all have a great Holi!

From the centre of New York City, I'm wishing everyone a vibrant and happy Holi. #TimesSquare The Indian consulate stated, "May the festival of colour fill your life with happiness, love, and peace." On Monday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, President Joe Biden, and Vice President Kamala Harris sent out greetings for Holi, celebrating the festival's worldwide celebration and the arrival of spring with gusto and a burst of brilliant colours.

Biden expressed his feelings on social media, as did First Lady Jill Biden. Millions of people will come together today to celebrate Holi, the arrival of spring, with bright and colourful costumes. Biden tweeted a picture along with the message, "Jill and I wish joy and happiness to everyone observing today's Festival of Colours."

In the meanwhile, on April 6, there will be a few more celebrations of Holi in New York. The Srijan Dance Company and Anup Das Dance Academy will perform classical Indian dances at the Flushing Town Hall Holi Dance Concert.

Alongside the dancers will be food vendor Queens Curry Kitchen and musicians Naren Budkar and Abhik Mukherjee performing on the sitar and tabla. Celebrate Holi, a day-long event at Brooklyn Children's Museum, will teach children about the traditions of the widely observed Hindu holiday via play, music, dancing, art, and cuisine. With 5,000 attendees in its eighth year, BCM's Celebrate Holi event is by far the most well-liked event at the Museum.
