March 28:
In a joint statement, more than a hundred civil society organisations expressed grave concerns about the worrying rise of Hindu supremacyalso referred to as Hindutva or Hindu nationalism—in the US. They draw attention to the fact that the Hindu Right and some American far-right factions have become closer allies.

They released a statement stating, "We, the undersigned organisations and individuals, express our acute concern about the alarming rise of Hindu supremacy, also known as Hindutva or Hindu nationalism, in the United States."

This political philosophy, which was initially expressed in the early 20th century and was directly influenced by fascism, nazism, and other racial subjugation ideas, is currently forming a closer connection with different elements of the American far-right. Our fundamental ideals of democracy, pluralism, and fairness are increasingly threatened by Hindu domination, both in India and in the United States.

The groups declare their support for Savera, a newly formed united front that stands for the real Indian-American majority. As stated in the proclamation, Savera has united an alliance of organisations and activists that are ecumenical, multiracial, and anti-caste in order to oppose all forms of political supremacy.

The proclamation stated that there have been numerous instances of violence against Muslims and other religious minorities, caste-oppressed groups, and indigenous peoples throughout the history of the highly anti-Muslim Hindu supremacist project, which started as a dominating caste project and is still in operation today. In addition to harming Indian, South Asian, and Muslim Americans, the Hindu supremacist movement is fundamentally at odds with our ideals of collective emancipation. It is our collective duty to support people who are fearlessly confronting racist politics and battling for a real multiracial democracy. We are all extremely troubled by Hindu dominance, and we are determined to fight it," the statement continued.

The groups have vowed to oppose political supremacist ideologies and all manifestations of bigotry, especially Hindu supremacy. Their objective is to get knowledge regarding the beliefs and worldwide reach of the Hindu supremacist movement, along with its connections to the wider far-right. They also support activities to confront anti-Muslim prejudice and outlaw caste discrimination in the US, demonstrating their solidarity with the fight against Islamophobia and caste discrimination.
