Speaking with X, the Indian mission stated, "India in New York has developed a platform for Indian Students to find internship opportunities at companies in the USA. This is part of the initiative to support Indian students in its jurisdiction."The consulate is making an attempt to assist Indian students within its authority by opening this new facility. Internships for qualified Indian students will be considered by a number of American and Indian businesses and organizations.

Students, according to the consulate, should use the application details given on the platform to apply directly to the companies. They brought up the point that the embassy isn't liable for or involved in the internship selection process.
