US Embassy Hosts Event in Dehradun to Promote Study Opportunities in the US for Indian Students
September 2 :
At a ceremony at Dehradun's Wellham Girls' School, the US Embassy in India informed pupils about study abroad programs and how to apply for student visas. Attendees at the event hosted by Education USA included a number of US-based counselors and visa officers. Pavan Rajgopal, a visa officer at the US Embassy, stated that the goal is to increase the number of Indian students who study in the US.
In an interview with ANI, Rajgopal expressed his desire to see more Indian students come to the US for higher education. We granted 140,000 student visas to Indian nationals in the past year. Up until now, that has been our highest point here. That's more than any nation on Earth. Furthermore, we anticipate an ever-increasing influx of Indian students pursuing undergraduate degrees in the United States.
"So we want to provide good information to the students so they can pick the school that is appropriate for their academic interests," according to him. He went on to say that the embassy has gotten a lot of positive feedback and that the United States will give these kids invaluable work experience.
A lot of people have responded positively. The United States of America, in my opinion, provides a curriculum that is tremendously adaptable. More than 4,500 educational institutions across a wide range of disciplines welcome applications from prospective overseas students. The Visa Officer expressed their belief that the students have truly valued the chance to attend this school, which would equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in the competitive job market of today.
According to Aastha Virk Singh, a senior advisor at EducationUSA, all the necessary details on programs, scholarships, and application preparation for US universities are being provided by the officials. Plus, there are more than 4,00 accredited schools in the United States, she said.
Applicants to colleges and universities in the United States can get assistance through EducationUSA, a federal program. It is fitting that we should be here at Wellham Girls School today. We have a meeting with the pupils today. We will have a conversation with them regarding the application process for US universities. What kinds of programs are on offer? Where can we find scholarship applications? Please tell me the steps involved in submitting an application. In what ways must we be ready? The visa division officials from the US embassy are here today as well. According to Singh, who will inform the youngsters about student visas? He spoke to ANI.
More than four thousand colleges and universities in the United States have earned accreditation. Our purpose in spending the next three to four days in Dehradun is to meet with the students, explain everything, and provide them with information about the chances offered by institutions in the United States. The reaction is excellent," she remarked.
