September 30 :
Additional 250,000 visa appointments for Indian travelers, skilled workers, students, and tourists were offered by the US Mission to India.
The US embassy in New Delhi made the announcement on Monday in an official statement. The newly freed slots would allow hundreds of thousands of Indian applicants to take timely interviews, which will facilitate travel. The backbone of the people-to-people links that underlie the US-India relationship is travel.

This is a post from the US Embassy in India that states, "The US Mission to India has opened an additional 250,000 visa appointments for Indian travelers, including tourists, skilled workers, and students." The message was shared on X.

The US embassy in New Delhi announced that the US mission to India has received more than one million applications for nonimmigrant visas for the second year in a row.

Everyone who applied for a student visa for the first time this summer was able to get an appointment at one of our five consular sections across India, and we kept processing record numbers. Our current efforts are concentrated on fostering connections between businesses, bringing families together, and easing tourism.

"More than 1.2 million Indians have traveled to the United States year to date in 2024, a 35 per cent increase over the same period in 2023," according to the report. Six million Indians are currently in possession of nonimmigrant visas to the US, and the Mission issues thousands more every day.

U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti recently made the following statement: "I am proud to say that we have delivered on that promise to improve and expedite the visa process," referring to the lofty objective set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden. In order to keep up with the unprecedented demand, our consular professionals at the embassy and four consulates are working around the clock.
