Prayer Ceremony at Mahalakshmi Temple Marks Kamala Harris’s 60th Birthday

On October 20, a special prayer ritual was held at the Mahalakshmi Temple in Ashland, Massachusetts to mark Kamala Harris's 60th birthday. The Mahalakshmi Temple in Massachusetts is both a vast and ancient temple.
Many well-wishers from all throughout the United States, including important states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, sent their best wishes for Harris's health and leadership. Ramesh V. Kapur, President of the U.S.-India Security Council, and G. Balachandran, Kamala's uncle, were among those who participated virtually.
Alagesan, a priest from the temple, presided over the ceremony, which included Pramit Maakoday, Priya Samant, Ranjani Saigal, and Tanishka Indorekar, a young activist. The turnout was indicative of the general public's optimism in Harris's chances of making history in the next election. Harris has become an icon of diversity and strength due to her mixed Indian, African, and American ancestry.
