A case has been registered against social media influencers based on complaints of insulting the Christian faith and inciting religious hatred. The case was filed against Akash Sagar, a young man who entered a Christian church and chanted Hindu slogans, including 'Jai Shri Ram,' on the microphone. The young man chanted slogans, including 'Jai Shri Ram,' inside a church located in the Mawlynnong area of East Khasi Hills district in Meghalaya.
Akash, along with a group of friends, climbed onto the church altar, approached the microphone, and sang while intermittently chanting 'Jai Shri Ram.' He also distorted Christian devotional songs and posted the video on his Instagram account. An activist from Shillong filed a complaint against Akash with the police. Based on this, an FIR was registered against Akash. However, Akash questioned whether the case was filed against him for chanting 'Jai Shri Ram' and defended himself by claiming that the allegations were made by his critics.
