The accused in the brutal murder of a woman and her twin children in Anchal have been arrested after 18 years. The arrested are Dibin Kumar from Anchal, Kollam, and Rajesh from Kannur, both former soldiers. After committing the crime, they had gone into hiding.
he case states that the murdered woman, Ranjini’s children, were fathered by Dibin Kumar, and the killings were carried out due to disputes over paternity. The crime took place in February 2006, with the victims’ throats being slit. The accused, a former soldier, and his brother were produced before the Ernakulam CBI court and remanded. The CBI Chennai unit arrested them while they were living under a different identity in Pondicherry, where they had married school teachers and settled.
Initially, the case was taken over by the Crime Branch and later handed to the CBI. Soon after, both accused went into hiding. They had served as soldiers at the Pathankot unit. The CBI arrested the accused during an investigation based on information that they were residing in Pondicherry.
