Justice Vinod Chandran elevated to the highest judicial bench; appointment approved by the President.

The Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, Justice K. Vinod Chandran, has been appointed as a Supreme Court judge. Following the recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium, the central government approved it, and the President signed the order. The Collegium, chaired by Supreme Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Khanna, recommended Justice Vinod Chandran for elevation to the highest judicial bench.

Justice Vinod Chandran, who was appointed as a judge of the Kerala High Court in November 2011, became the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court in March 2023. The Collegium's statement highlighted that Justice Vinod Chandran is a highly skilled judge with expertise in diverse legal fields. Justice Vinod Chandran is a native of North Paravur in Ernakulam district.
