Bentla, a coach with an A license
Former Indian footballer Bentla Dcoth earned the A-License coaching diploma from the All India Football Federation, adding yet another significant milestone to her illustrious career.
Bentla Dcoth is a pioneering figure in Indian football, boasting a rich and diverse background in playing, refereeing, and coaching. As an international player, she represented India at the 1998 Bangkok Asian Games, serving as the vice-captain of the Indian team. In her refereeing career, she became the first Indian to achieve the title of FIFA referee, officiating at major international tournaments such as the Athens 2004 Olympics and the Under-20 World Cups in Chile and Russia 2007 and 2009 She also became the first referee from South Asia to officiate at the Olympics. After retiring from refereeing, she further contributed to the sport by becoming an AFC Elite Referee Assessor, Recruiter, and Assessor, in 2011
once again the first Indian to hold these roles. Apart from this she served as an Asst coach for U 20 National team for AFC and SAFF championships in 2022 . She is the first Indian to achieve all of these remarkable accomplishments, reflecting a deep commitment to excellence and the advancement of football at every level.
