World Malayalee Council America Region inaugurated three new provinces

World Malayalee Council (WMC), organized with the mission to provide a global forum for friendship and fellowship networking among Malayalees worldwide, inaugurated 3 new provinces in the Americas region.  WMC which has membership in more than 20 countries around the world added three new provinces in Tampa, South Florida, and Atlanta.             

The three events were inaugurated by Mr. Daniel Mohan, former Global Chairman.  The Tampa Province was formed on March 20, 2015 with a membership of 51 members.   The South Florida Province, based in Miami, was formed on March 21, 2015 with a membership of 32 members. The Atlanta Province was formed on March 22, 2015 with a membership of 37 members. 

In each of the meetings, Mr. Mohan briefed the new members about the origin and activities of WMC provinces around the world. WMC was established in 1995 in New Jersey as a non-profit organization and it sets itself apart from other Malayalee organizations in its global reach and its emphasis on professional development, charity, and cultural exchange.    He explained that through the hard and dedicated work of its members, WMC has been able to grow and establish itself in more than 20 countries in the world.  He made presentations on the structure of the WMC to the new members, which are Provinces, Regions and Global levels and had detailed  discussions of the by-laws of the organization and roles and responsibilities of provincial leadership.

Mr. Daniel Mohan who has been coordinating the formation of new provinces in the America Region said that four more provinces are getting ready for inauguration during May and June.

WMC will be celebrating the 20th anniversary and various provinces throughout world are planning to celebrate this occasion.   The WMC Global conference will be held at Hotel Atlantis in Dubai on April 16, 17, and 18, 2015.   Approximately 200 delegates from all over the world are expected to attend.  All are welcomed to attend the Global meet.

Mr. Mohan said that plans are underway for the America Region’s celebration of the 20th anniversary of the WMC. Venue and other details will be announced after the Global Conference.
