DAYTON, Ohio: State Representative Niraj Antani (R-Miamisburg) filed his petitions for re-election to run for his second term in the Ohio House of Representatives.

“It has been an honor to serve my constituents in this community I was born and raised in, and I hope to continue this service,” Antani said. “I want to continue the fight to ensure every Ohioan has their opportunity to achieve their American Dream.”

During his first term in the House, Antani voted for legislation that cut taxes on all Ohio families and small business owners by $1.2 billion over the next two years. He also worked to advance the Dayton region’s priorities by helping to create the Ohio Military Facilities Commission, which will help protect jobs at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and secure workforce development funds for Sinclair Community College.

“Representative Antani has been a very active member of our caucus during his first term,” Ohio House Speaker Cliff Rosenberger said. “He has shown a willingness to work with his colleagues and has not backed down from big issues. I look forward to continuing our work together and doing what I can to ensure his return to the House.”

Earlier this year, Antani was named to Forbes Magazine’s list of the “Top 30 Under 30” people in the United States for Law and Politics. He has also been named to the “Top 30 Conservatives Under Age 30 in the United States” list by Red Alert Politics. In 2013, the Montgomery County Republican Party named him the “Republican Man of the Year.”

The 42nd District covers most of southern Montgomery County.

Antani resides in Miamisburg.
