Kamal Haasan donates Rs.15 lakh for Chennai flood relief
Chennai, Dec 11
Actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan has extended his support to the rain-affected victims of Tamil Nadu by donating Rs.15 lakh to the Chief Minister's Public Relief Fund.
"The cheque of Rs.15 lakh has been handed over to Nadigar Sangam which will in turn pass it to the relief fund," Haasan's manager told IANS.
Several actors from Tamil and Telugu industries including Rajinikanth, Suriya, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun and Dhanush have so far contributed to help the rain ravaged people of the state.
Some actors had formed small groups and collected relief material.
Heavy rains pounded many parts of Tamil Nadu over the last few weeks. Although the downpour has stopped and the water level has receded in many places, the city and its people are still limping back to normalcy.
