'Ammani' to finally release on October 14
Chennai, Sep 15: Actor-filmmaker Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's third Tamil directorial "Ammani" will finally hit the screens on October 14 -- after months of delay. Lakshmy is confident that the film will strike a chord with the audience.
"It's not a woman-centric film. Everybody can relate to this universal subject. It's a story about a woman who thinks about her death, unlike others who think about living. I would like to thank producer Ven Govinda for picking up this project," Lakshmy said in a statement.
According to the producer, "reading the script of 'Ammani' felt like reading a novel".
Lakshmy would like to dedicate the film to late popular lyricist Na Muthukumar. "His contribution to 'Ammani' was priceless. His song 'Lifea Macha Oru Prepaid Phone' will talk about the facts of life," she said.
The film, which stars 82-year-old Subbulakshmi in the lead, also features Nithin Satya, Robo Shankar and George Mariyan.
