Need unusual roles to make a mark: Nandita

Chennai, Nov 21: Buoyed by the success of her latest Telugu outing "Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada" in which she played a deglam role, actress Nandita Swetha believes she needs to take up unusual roles with substance to make a mark.
The film, which released on November 18, marks her Telugu debut.
"I couldn't have asked for a better launch pad. Even though my role wasn't glamorous, I picked it up because I believe it's these unusual roles with substance that will help one make a mark. The reception I got for my role is proof that I wasn't wrong in my decision," Nandita told IANS.
She saw a lot of potential in her role.
"It was very different compared to anything I had played before. This is exactly what excited me the most about the role," she said.
Nandita has ruled out the possibility of taking up glamorous roles.
"What really matters to me is that I should have something to contribute to the film. If all I need to do is run around the trees and look beautiful in a glamorous role, then I don't see the purpose of doing it. For instance, in this film, I was part of some action scenes it was so much fun," she said.
She currently awaits the release of filmmaker Selvaraghavan's upcoming Tamil horror-thriller "Nenjam Marappathillai".
