Indian, Pakistani troops clash on LoC

Jammu, June 28: Indian and Pakistani troops clashed on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, military officials said.
Defence Ministry sources said the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked firing in Balakot sector in Poonch district, using small arms, automatics and mortars to target Indian positions.
"The Pakistani shelling and firing started at 3.30 p.m.," an official said. "The Indian Army posts are effectively and strongly retaliating. Firing is still going on."
