Raghava Lawrencce's 'Kanchana' sequel announced
Chennai, Sep 8: Actor-filmmaker Raghava Lawrencce is in no mood to end the highly popular and successful "Muni" horror franchise as he has announced a sequel which will be bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
The first part in the "Muni" franchise released in 2007. The second part was called "Muni 2: Kanchana" and third, which released in 2015, was titled "Kanchana 2".
Lawrencce was unavailable for comment, but his publicist confirmed that a new project from the franchise is in the offing.
"It will be a sequel to 'Kanchana 2'. It will star Lawrencce in the lead and he will direct it as well. The cast and crew are yet to be finalised. Sun Pictures will produce the film," a source from the film's unit told IANS.
Sun Pictures in a tweet confirmed their association.
"Announcing Sun Picture's upcoming release. 'Kanchana 3', starring and to be directed by Raghava Lawrencce," read a tweet from Sun Pictures handle.
Lawrencce's last two releases "Motta Siva Ketta Siva" and "Sivalinga" turned out to be duds. He hopes to bounce back with "Kanchana 3".
