Taylor Swift Backs Kamala Harris, Elon Musk Mocks the Endorsement
Washington DC, September 11:
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, poked fun at American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, who, after a high-stakes fight with Trump, endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the next president.
Swift declared her endorsement of Democratic contender Kamala Harris for the 2024 US Presidential Election following Tuesday's (local time) presidential debate between Trump and Harris, which was hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia.
Great job, Taylor. You've won. With my life, I will protect your kitties and have a child for you," Musk wrote online. "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election," Swift declared in a series of social media posts.
Swift praised Harris as a "gifted" and "steady-handed" leader.
I too, like a lot of you, tuned in to tonight's debate. Learn more about the current events and the candidates' positions on the issues that are important to you by reading up on them now, if you haven't done so previously. "I read and watch everything I can about their plans and policies for this country as a voter," Swift stated.
In the 2024 presidential election, Tim Walz and Kamala Harris have my vote. I'm supporting @kamalaharris in this election because she is a fierce advocate for causes and rights that I think deserve a strong voice. I think she's an excellent leader who keeps everyone on task, and I think our nation can achieve much more if she takes the helm. "The choice of @timwalz as her running mate has been an inspiration to me. He has been a staunch advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and women's autonomy over their bodies for many years," the singer continued.
With the last words "childless cat lady," she ended her message, referencing a term that Trump's running mate, Senator JD Vance, had used to attack Democrats in the past.
For Democrats and Harris, this is not Swift's first rodeo. According to CNN Entertainment, she declared her support for Biden and Harris's 2020 presidential campaign.
In the 2024 election campaign, a group of Swifties banded together to form an online network named Swifties for Kamala, according to CNN Entertainment, when Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris.
After President Joe Biden withdrew from the race because to growing worries about his age, especially following his dismal performance in the June debate with Donald Trump, Harris was nominated as the Democratic candidate.
Before her, no vice president has ever been female, Black, or Asian American. With her 59 years of experience under her belt, Harris would break historical records as the first woman to serve as president of the United States. In the history of the United States, no major political party has ever nominated a female candidate for president before the vice president.
Former President Donald Trump, who had a bitter exit in 2020 and is seeking a return to the White House, is Harris's opponent. On November 5, the presidential elections will take place.
